Jocelyn Frye is a Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress where she focuses on a wide range of women’s economic security and employment issues such as work-family conflicts, pay equity, and equal employment opportunity with a particular focus on the workplace challenges facing women of color. Her work includes developing robust policy solutions to combat gender discrimination in the workplace, and she has written and spoken extensively on sexual harassment and equal pay. Prior to joining the Center, Frye served for four years as Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of Policy and Special Projects for the First Lady, overseeing the broad issue portfolio of the First Lady. Before joining the Obama Administration, Frye served as General Counsel at the National Partnership for Women & Families, concentrating on employment and gender discrimination issues and workplace barriers facing women of color. She began her career as an associate at Crowell & Moring, a Washington, D.C. law firm, working in the white-collar crime practice area. Frye received her undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan and her law degree from Harvard Law School and she is a proud native of Washington, D.C., where she still resides.
