During the 2nd session of the Alaska 32nd Legislature the Alaska Black Caucus advocated for legislation that supports and enhances the lives and livelihoods of Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color (BIPOC) across Alaska. We worked toward eliminating all forms of racial prejudices, keeping the public aware of the adverse effects of racial, educational, political, and economic discrimination, and resolved to take all affirmative and necessary action to secure and ensure the elimination of all forms of prejudice.
The Alaska Black Caucus understands the importance of community unity through empowerment, encouragement, and mutual support. As we prepare for the next legislation session, remember, more than ever, that we live in a world where opportunities and resources are endless to learn more about the cultures and people that surround us. So let us take some time to understand different cultures and their people to connect and learn from one another.
