BLACK BUSINESS MONTH -August 2023 –
Historian John William Templeton and engineer Frederick E. Jordan Sr. founded National Black Business Month in August 2004 to drive the policy agenda affecting the 2.6 million African-American businesses.
Black Business Month is a celebration to support, acknowledge and appreciate black-owned businesses and all they represent in the country’s continual striving for inclusion: diversity and equality.
Although Black Business Month is a particular time for acknowledging and supporting Black-owned businesses, you should support black-owned companies year-round.
Following are a few ways you can honor and celebrate Black Business Month.
● Shop at Black-owned businesses.
● Learn about Black business history.
● Get involved in your community.
● Spread the word.
● Invest in a Black-owned business.
The Economics Committee meeting will be held on August 17 via Zoom. If you are interested in participating, please get in touch with Ouida Morrison via text at 907-242-977
