Justice February Report

We are thrilled to participate in the 6th Annual Bettye Davis African American Healthy Families Summit on February 8, 2025, at Bettye Davis East Anchorage High School. This year, the Justice Committee will be hosting a panel focused on police and community relations, as well as civilian oversight.

The Alaska Black Caucus is honored to welcome Ms. Jacqueline Hendricks, the first-ever Inspector General for the City of Columbus, to Anchorage for this important panel discussion. Inspector General Hendricks is a retired police sergeant with over 34 years of experience in criminal justice, law enforcement, and policy development. She holds a bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University and a Master of Public Administration from Central Michigan State University.

Joining Ms. Hendricks on the panel will be Alaska State Senator Elvi Gray-Jackson, who has dedicated her service to protecting the rights, health, and well-being of our community members.
