ABC Education Committee Launches Community Engagement Survey

ABC Education Committee Launches Community Engagement Survey to Shape Future Initiatives

The Alaska Black Caucus (ABC) Education Committee, under the interim leadership of Dr. Kristina Mason, is embarking on a comprehensive community engagement initiative aimed at enhancing educational equity and outcomes for students of color in Anchorage and the broader Alaskan community.

In May 2025, Dr. Mason convened with several committee members during the regularly scheduled monthly meeting to introduce herself and initiate a dialogue about the committee’s direction and effectiveness. Recognizing the importance of inclusive feedback, the committee is now seeking broader input from ABC members, allies, and community stakeholders through a structured survey.

Purpose of the Survey

The survey is designed to assess the Education Committee’s current operations, identify successful strategies, and uncover areas requiring additional focus. Insights gathered will inform both internal planning and external collaborations, ensuring that the committee’s efforts align with the community’s educational needs and aspirations.

Survey Details

• Timeframe: Monday, June 2 – Sunday, June 22, 2025

• Access: Participants can complete the survey online at 2025 Education Committee Survey.

ABC members are encouraged to participate and share the survey within their networks to maximize diverse input.

Upcoming Committee Meeting

• Date: Thursday, June 26, 2025

• Format: Virtual meeting, held on the last Thursday of each month

The Education Committee welcomes all interested individuals to join the upcoming meeting, where preliminary survey findings will be discussed, and future initiatives will be planned.
