The Health Committee continues to meet monthly with a strong commitment to advancing health equity in our community. Our current focus is on increasing awareness and education around STI prevention. Our goal is to work in close partnership with the Anchorage Health Department to create a space for ongoing conversations and collaboration. As part of this effort, we have discussed media informatives to help engage and empower the community with accurate, culturally relevant health information.
We’re also excited to announce our upcoming community presence at two major events: the Juneteenth Celebration and the Equity Center Grand Opening. These events offer valuable opportunities for us to connect directly with the community, share resources, and listen to their health concerns.
Additionally, we will be participating in the Corene Davis Graham Cancer Telethon on June 8, where we’ll present on the importance of nutrition in cancer prevention and share highlights from our recent community health needs assessment.
